It was wonderful to get a chance to briefly meet Team Rummel-Hudson. <BR/><BR/>I was the one who said that to Julie about being eclipsed. In the general state of confusion that I tend to find myself functioning (or not) during ASHA conventions, I turned to Julie thinking she was a PRC rep (as in you were the current draw to the booth, more so than the PRC products). Once I realized my mistake, for some reason I decided keeping my mouth shut was the better option! That was a great post, clearly an awesome trip for both you and Schuyler. I met Richard Ellenson through a mutual friend; I was writing an article about him for Child Magazine. And, I have a nonverbal little boy with cerebral palsy who I blog about at www.lovethatmax.blogspot.com. Richard Ellenson is an AMAZING man, period. I am in awe of all that he has accomplished. Max took to the Tango right away! In the end, his therapists thought he wasn't quite ready for it, he ended up with a Dynavox. I have mixed feelings about it, and may return to the Tango in the near future. I am amazed daily by what it can do, and by the doors it is going to open for him. Instead of pushing one picture and having to switch laminated pages and sometimes not getting a response because he wasn't pushing hard enough, now he has to navigate through 3-5 pages to tell us what he wants...and he can, and it's truly very sensitive to touch, all adjustable, full of words, and you can tell the power it's giving him! It's truly amazing what these people are doing for our kids. By the way, my husband now calls the Palmtop the "Big Box of Words", in honor of your family! These technological devices truly make the difference between our kids existing in the world, or moving through the world and taking in all it offers, the good and the bad. Yea, technology! (SO funny that it comes in pink, by the way! And since she is completely ambulatory, setting up the Vantage Lite to interact with a computer via Bluetooth is probably a better solution for her.
