This post at SfSN really hits the nail on the head. People make terrible value judgments about the lives of people with developmental disabilities, and this is one of the most awful examples I've ever seen. Thank you for exposing me to it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Rob. This story is heartwrenching, appalling and downright unbelievable in 2012. Then again, I think, maybe not. Cause, there but for the grace of God go I, you know.
CHOP is about 10 minutes from me here in Philly. There is talk of a rally there. I will be there if there is one. This family needs to know they are not alone and that others stand with them.
